Wales Coast Path
The Wales Coast Path (Llwybr Afordir Cymru) was opened in May 2012, making the country the largest in the world to have a continuous path around its entire coast. Covering 870 miles/1400 km, this long-distance path starts on the outskirts of Chester.

About us
Locally, the path travels through thousands of years of the region’s fascinating history, from the days of Roman lead smelting at Flint to the shipbuilding and steel-making of more recent times.
Further along, it passes the brooding remains of Flint Castle, still watching across the waters of the Dee, and on to Talacre and Gronant, where areas of precious coastline are protected for rare species, and children come with buckets and spades to play beside the sea.
