Beaufont Park Hotel
SAPPHIRE BLUE AND THE BEAUFORT
Run by genial General Manager, Mark Small, and his valued team, The Beaufort Park Hotel, located just outside the historic market town of Mold, is a popular destination with both leisure and business travellers, known for its warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere.
In honour of a quirky visitor, Mark has chosen a peacock sculpture for the hotel’s part in the Flintshire Trail. The visitor in question is a peacock rejoicing in the glorious name of Sapphire Blue, who even has his own Facebook page. A cherished family pet who cannot be kept caged, Sapphire Blue is free to roam about his neighbourhood, perching on roofs, pecking about in gardens, and peeking through patio doors.

About us
A familiar sight at The Beaufort, Sapphire Blue can often be found wandering the grounds, much to the amusement of guests and staff alike. Occasionally, he will stroll into the building itself, providing a welcome distraction during business and planning meetings, and he was even an unexpected ‘guest’, at a wedding recently. Given that their association with beauty and renewal has led to the symbolic use of peacocks in weddings, this impromptu appearance was quite apt!
In true Beaufort Park Hotel fashion, where the unexpected is always welcomed with a smile, Sapphire Blue has become something of an unofficial mascot. Whether he’s strutting through the lobby, brightening up a business meeting, or making a surprise appearance at a wedding, this flamboyant peacock never fails to steal the show.
So, if you happen to spot Sapphire Blue whilst you’re at The Beaufort, consider it a sign of good luck – or at the very least, a guarantee that your visit will be anything but ordinary!
