Same Country, Different World

Prestatyn Beaches

Approximately 4 miles long, the promenade joining Prestatyn’s three beaches is popular with walkers and cyclists alike, and is part of the North Wales Coast Path and the National Cycle Network.

About

FFRITH BEACH
This long expanse of golden sands backed by dunes and grasses is at the western end of Prestatyn and consists of Ffrith Beach West, stretching from the golf course to the entrance to Ffrith Beach Fun Parc, and Ffrith Beach East, leading towards the main resort beach of Prestatyn Central.
PRESTATYN CENTRAL BEACH
Prestatyn’s main beach lies just half a mile from the town centre and its wide range of cafes, pubs, and restaurants. With its golden sands and clean waters, this Blue Flag beach is a magnet for water sports enthusiasts and marks the beginning of Offa’s Dyke Path, a long-distance national trail that runs from here to Chepstow in the south.

BARKBY BEACH
Backed by a wide promenade, Barkby is a long, sandy beach divided up by a series of rocky breakwaters. The dunes
and grassy areas behind the beach have picnic areas for visitors to use. A popular area for sailing, Barkby Beach is
home to Prestatyn Sailing Club and has a boat launching slipway.
RHYL BEACH
A vast expanse of golden sand stretching for around 2 miles, Rhyl’s Seaside Award-winning beach is popular for
paddling, swimming, and donkey rides, and the town offers other traditional attractions such as seafront amusement
arcades and candy floss kiosks.
Other attractions include SeaQuarium Rhyl, a modern aquarium featuring species from
around the world, and an outdoor Seal Cove where you can get underwater views of Harbour Seals in their 330,000 litre
pool, and SC2RHYL, which has exciting water slides, an indoor water park, an outdoor splash pad, and an adventure play
area.
